RHE
Great Chart Primary School has a programme of Relationships and Health Education (RHE) aimed at developing values and attitudes and the personal skills to make choices.
Definition of RHE
Relationship and Health Education is about the importance of family and friendship. In order to embrace the challenges of creating a happy and successful life, pupils need knowledge that will enable them to form healthy, respectful relationships, both in reality and online. It enables the children to make informed decisions, when facing challenge and risk , encouraging them to build resilience and take responsibility. Furthermore, it focuses on the importance of good physical health and mental well-being. This includes self-care, basic first aid and the benefits gained from hobbies and interests. At Great Chart Primary School we have tailored RHE to suit our pupils, school and community; giving careful consideration to our school ethos and aims and our pupils’ needs. Our main concept threads for RHE are: Relationships; Keep Safe; Mental Health; Physical Health; Drug Awareness
