On 11th and 12th March Lizzie from Skipping Workshops was in school skipping with every class. She worked through basic skipping skills, speed skills, long rope and double dutch games. At the end of each day there was a skipping show where the children demonstrated their new found skipping skills. Since then the playground has come alive with ropes and the children are enjoying skipping alone and with friends. Skipping is a great form of exercise and a fun way to keep fit. The fitness club are even looking at developing a skipping routine to music! The sessions were funded using the Sport Premium and this also allowed us to buy new ropes for school . The funding is designed to enhance provision and encourage healthy lifestyles and this was definitely a great way to engage pupils and encourage them to be active.
