On the last day of term, Year 3 had a Roman day. All the children arrived to school in their Roman costumes and they looked fantastic – thank you parents. During the morning, the children made shields for the battle to commence in the afternoon. After break time, roman clay pots were made and the children designed their own patterns. Also the children had fun learning about roman numerals. After lunch, ninety excited children went on to the play ground (with their shields) to learn how the Romans formed the ‘Tortoise’ in battles. The day was a great success!
