World Book Day

At Great Chart, we believe that books are magical for they can transport readers to far-away places without ever leaving their chairs. And so, from the moment that our children begin their school life, they embark upon a journey of discovery; each new story is a stepping stone into new worlds, new experiences and ideas, and vocabulary that fires their imaginations.

For this reason, on Thursday 2nd March, the pupils at Great Chart took part in the 20th World Book Day where they were invited to come to school dressed as a Storybook character and participate in a range of exciting cross curricular activities from book scavenger hunts to Science experiments where the children made their own potions inspired by ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’.

We also organised a Book Swap where children from every year group had the opportunity to exchange a book from home with an exciting ‘new’ book.’ We have had a memorable day where the amazing world of books has truly been celebrated.
